PYP Open Afternoon for EYFS and Key Stage 1

Three young girls are pictured sat at their desks, wearing their academy uniform. The girl in the centre is seen smiling brightly at the camera.

Dear Parents/Carers,

Throughout the year, we have and will continue to have opportunities for our children to share their learning with their adults. We have listened carefully to feedback from parents regarding how we communicate and share the learning experiences of the children and, with this in mind, we would like to invite parents and carers to an EYFS and KS1 PYP open afternoon on Monday 12th December from 2.30pm. This is open to the parents of our Nursery, Reception and Year 1 and 2 classes.

As part of this afternoon, the children will be able to share some of their most memorable experiences and learning that they have been involved with over the last two terms, this may include showing you some pieces of work, Art or generally discussing their inquiry journey with you. The philosophy of the IB PYP focuses on the importance of sharing learning within the learning community which is why we feel it is an integral part of our children’s learning processes, to share and reflect upon their current and prior learning with confidence. As you would have seen last term, our KS2 children were able to share their learning linked to Computing and the wider curriculum.

Please be aware that due to space within classrooms, we will only be able to accommodate two parents per child. If you wish to attend, please confirm this with the office as soon as possible. We would kindly ask that if you need to bring with you any prams or pushchairs that these are left outside of the classrooms that you are visiting so as to not take up too much space.

We look forward to seeing you and for our children to be able to share with you their inquiry learning so far this academic year.

Kind Regards,

Miss Theobald
