Parental Update November 2022

A young girl can be seen smiling whilst looking down at her desk to write something in her exercise book.

Dear parents and carers,

We hope that you had a fabulous half term and we are now looking forward to the run up to Christmas with all of the lovely celebrations we have planned and to share with you.  Just a reminder that we do have parents evenings this week on Wednesday 9th November 3.30pm – 6pm and Thursday 10th November 3.30pm – 6.30pm.  These will be virtual on School Cloud as per the letter that was sent out before half term.  If you are experiencing any problems with this then please do contact the academy office.

Module 2 Term Dates

We have attached the term dates to this letter so that you are aware of the dates well in advance.  With all events that we have planned we will send out an accompanying letter beforehand to give you more details about the event.  Due to the KS1 Nativity having two classes performing together, we have decided to hold two opportunities to see this so we can fit all families into the hall and this will be a ticketed event. More information will soon follow in the next few weeks.

PE Days

We are very lucky and continue to have Mr Paton from Hundred of Hoo secondary teaching KS2 PE lessons.  Please remember that these are weekly on Mondays and Fridays and alternate each week.  The first week back is a Monday lesson, the second week back is a Friday, the third week back is a Monday and so on.  Please ensure that they are wearing appropriate PE kit and are dressed for the outside as a majority of lessons will be held outside.  Please see specific dates below;

  • Monday 7th November
  • Friday 18th November
  • Monday 21st November
  • Friday 2nd December
  • Monday 5th December
  • Friday 16th December
  • Monday 19th December

Remembrance Day

From Tuesday 8th November your children will be able to purchase items for the Poppy Appeal as we support this throughout the school.  Year groups will also discuss this in class and will have a special Remembrance service in school led by Reverend Qwilt from Allhallows Church.

Children can bring in money to buy the following items;

  • Snap bands – £1.50
  • Zip pulls – £1
  • Silicon wristband – £1
  • Reflectors – £1
  • Poppies metal or paper badge £1

We do have limited stock and so we anticipate that these items might be sold out by Thursday 10th November so it will be first come, first served.

Children In Need

Next week we invite all children to dress up wearing their own clothes for Children In Need on Friday 18th November. Children can wear everything spotty for this event, this could be a onesie, a T-shirt or pyjamas but they do not need to wear any uniform.  If you would like to donate to Children In Need then please do so on this link: https://www.bbcchildreninneed.co.uk/

We will endeavour to update our Facebook page as well as sending out letters to MCAS so please look out for updates. If you are having any problems with MCAS at all then please do contact the academy office.

We look forward to seeing you at the events that are planned for this term and to get ready for our Christmas celebrations.

Kind regards,

Mrs L Rimmer

Principal
