Parents’ Evening at Peninsula East Primary Academy

Dear Parents/Carers,

There will be two opportunities for you to speak to your child/children’s class teacher about their progress and attainment over the course of this academic year. Our first meeting will be held virtually in November and the second meeting will be held in person around March 2023. During the in person meeting, the children’s books will be available and for the November meeting, we will ask teachers to send a piece of work home that the children are proud of to share with you. You will then receive your child’s/children’s end of year report in July 2023.

We will be holding parents evenings virtually using School Cloud as we did last year on Wednesday 9th November 3.30pm – 6pm and Thursday 10th November 3.30pm – 6.30pm.

If you would like to make an appointment with Mrs Drogomirecki, our SENcO, for either evening then please contact the school office and they will arrange a telephone appointment for you during those evenings.

As always, this will be an opportunity for you to meet with your child’s teacher to discuss the progress that your child has made so far this academic year and any current interventions or support that your child is receiving as well as to ask them any questions that you may have about the start of their school year so far.

Appointment slots will be for 10 minutes at a time and the School Cloud system is on a timer so it will automatically finish the appointment after the 10 minute time slot. Please be prompt in attending your appointment as arriving late will mean that you get less time within your appointment slot. Teachers are unable to alter anything on the School Cloud system so will not be able to extend the appointment. If you feel you need more time to talk to the class teacher, you can book another meeting with them for another time after school.

Attached to this letter are the instructions for you to set up your School Cloud account, if you do not already have one and this will enable you to access the booking system for your child’s/children’s teacher(s). Booking slots will be assigned by the online booking system on a first come first served basis. You should receive a confirmation email which will explain how you can access the meeting. We would strongly advise that you practise this before the evening as despite you not being able to enter the meeting beforehand, it will help you to familiarise yourself with the process before the evenings. School Cloud will also send you a reminder email the day before about your appointment time.

Appointment times will become available from tomorrow morning at 8am and you will be able to book appointments up until Wednesday 9th November at 12 midday. Please do contact the school office if you need any further support with an appointment or with the School Cloud system.
