Dear Parents/Carers,
During the last week of term, as well as holding some events for both our children and parents to join in with the lead up to the celebrations, the children will also have different curriculum activities linked to the Queen that week, such as creating portraits of the Queen and learning about the different eras of her reign.
Please see the range of activities below that we have arranged in addition to the children’s class learning:
- Monday 23rd May, 2:15pm – Year 1 and Year 2 Parents Cream Tea with their Children
- Tuesday 24th May, 2:15pm – Nursery and Year R Parents Cream Tea with their Children
- Wednesday 25th May, 2:15pm – Key Stage 2 Parents Cream Tea with their Children
- Thursday 26th May – Commemorative Plate Painting for the Children (Year R – 6)
- Friday 27th May – Non-Uniform Day for all – wear Red, White and Blue Clothing
For the cream tea event with parents, we will need to limit this to 2 adults per child attending and younger siblings may also attend. We would hope to be able to offer this outside but as we all know, the weather is not always on our side. However, we would recommend that you bring blankets to sit on if the weather is good as we will not be able to provide these.
In order for us to be able to organise the cream teas for parents, we will need to know whether you would like a scone, jam and cream so that we can order these ahead of the event and that you will pay £1.50 to order these. Please complete the slip below and return to the office the £1.50 payment in a sealed envelope by Friday 6th May 2022 and indicate if there are any dietary requirements. Please understand that if these have not been ordered and paid for by 6th May then you will not receive a cream tea when attending the events with the children. We will of course provide hot and soft drinks on the day and we will be organising cakes and ice lollies for the children.
For the commemorative plate painting, we have arranged for a specialist outdoor company to come in and work with our children in Year R – 6. We are asking that all parents contribute £5 so that the children can create these and then they will be able to take them home to keep and that way, we thought that this would be a great keepsake for them to commemorate the Queen’s Jubilee. In the nursery, Mrs Imthiyaz is also going to ensure that the children create something more suitable for their age group to keep and take home.
Please use Parent Mail to contribute your payment for the plate painting by Friday 20th May so that your child can take the plate home with them on the last day of term. If they have not been paid for then the children will be unable to take them home.
We hope that you will be able to join us for some of our celebrations and we know that the children will have an enjoyable week.
Kind Regards,
Mrs L Rimmer
Principal
